This system is awful. While the technology seems decent, the installation and documentation is absolutely bonkers.The waterproofing glands do not fit over the ethernet wire connections, so you have to go through some pretty extraordinary lengths to protect the connections from the elements, and it looks like a complete hack job. I had to cut off the flange on the ethernet cable just to get it through the fitting, and then the stress relief part of the wire is too big for the compression fitting to tighten, so I had to cut that off too, but since I did it manually it's uneven and I don't know how weatherproof it actually is. I thought I was just doing it wrong, but no... they just never seemed to try using the equipment they included before shipping it out. And forget about the instructions; they talk about taping stuff up putting the power adapter in a box (not included... and why a power adapter?!? this is supposed to be a PoE system!) Get this... the single page of camera installation instructions says "please install the product in accordance with the manual"... guess what doesn't actually exist?The cameras have a (unnecessary) power connection cable, so it's just another thing you've got to either cut off and wrap up with weatherproofing or leave it dangling. It's so incredibly ghetto, and extra work for no reasonable purpose. This system is not designed for these cameras.The instructions are, for all intents and purposes, nonexistent. The "Important information" booklet is a page and a half of warnings, half of which do not apply, and the other half are obvious. The rest of the book is the same stupid warnings in 100 different languages.You MUST have a dedicated monitor to set this up and use it. It's network connected, but you can't set it up via network. I'm looking for a home monitoring system, but now I've got to have a whole setup in my closet just use this thing. It doesn't make any sense at all.The quick setup guide is for a completely different system, to the point where they don't even apply.The cameras might be nice and all, but you can do a lot better than this to get home coverage. Don't buy this. If I hadn't started cutting things to make it work, I'd be returning it.
